Chow and Gong team with Zhang
Chow Yun Fat and Gong Li will star in Autumn Remembrance for director Zhang Yimou. The movie will be shot in China next February. Zhang previously teamed up with Gong as they broke through with such films as Raise the Red Lantern and Ju Dou. In Autumn Remembrance, Chow and Gong will portray star-crossed lovers who fall in love within the borders of a certain kingdom. She will play the imperial bodyguard Phoenix, while Chow will play Prince Ping. Various forces conspire to keep the lovers apart. One of these is his stepmother, who also happens to be in love with him. Ultimately, the lovers are led on an imperiled journey where they discover the secrets of the royal family.
