Foster has a taste for Sugar
Jodie Foster is set to direct and star in Sugar Kings for Universal Pictures. The movie centers on a young lawyer who partners with a long-time public interest lawyer to take on some powerful sugar barons who are taking advantage of migrant workers who cut their sugar cane. The screenplay for the film was written by Ned Zeman and Daniel Barnz and is at least partially based on Marie Brenner's Vanity Fair article "In the Kingdom of Big Sugar". She also wrote the article that sparked the story behind The Insider.
