Paramount Pictures and MTV Films have hired Tim Dowling to adapt the Gordon Korman comic novel Born to Rock. The coming-of-age tale tells the story of Leo, a young Republican who is college-bound, but loses his Harvard scholarship after being implicated in a school prank. When his dreams start coming apart in front of him, he discovers that his biological father is a legendary rock star who is setting out for a reunion tour. Leo goes on the road with his dad in hopes of getting him to pay his tuition. In the process, they manage to become close.

Paramount is Born to Rock
Paramount Pictures and MTV Films have picked up the rights to the Gordon Korman novel Born to Rock. Gavin and Greg O'Connor will develop the project, with Gavin potentially directing. The comedy will center on a teenager who finds his dreams of attending Harvard shattered when his scholarship is revoked in an ethics scandal. He learns that his biological father is the lead singer of a legendary '80s punk band that is looking for a comeback. The young man becomes a roadie with the intention of getting some money from his father.
