Warner Bros. has One of a Kind
Warner Bros. has optioned the rights to the Nolan Dalla/Peter Alson-written biography, One of a Kind: The Rise and Fall of Stuey 'The Kid' Ungar. Ungar was one of the biggest stars in poker, and ultimately a tragic figure. The young man came from nowhere to win two World Series of Poker championships in a row by his mid-20s. In his brief career, he cashed in over $30 million in chips, but had such a self-destructive personality that he spent every last penny and was broke when he eventually died of a drug overdose.
