WB is on Fire
Warner Bros. will once again put the adaptation of the Norman Maclean book Young Men and Fire back into development. After several attempts at starting the film, the movie has been assigned to director Tod C. Williams (The Door in the Floor). The screenplay will be adapted by Williams' cousin, Tod H. WIlliams.
The book by Maclean (A River Runs Through It) was written shortly before the author's death. The book tells the story of a 1949 Montana forest fire that was primed by an unusual combination of wind and explosions. The flames it produced were equal to 40 stories in height and moved at 50 mph. A group of "smoke jumpers" parachuted into the flames to battle the fire. Thirteen men died in the process.
