Hotel Rwanda writer gets new gig
Keir Pearson, who was nominated along with Terry George for the screenplay for Hotel Rwanda, has been hired by Paramount Pictures to write a script based on the story of Abdurahman Khadr, who was raised in the compound of Osama Bin Laden and ultimately became an informant for the CIA. Khadr was the central focus of a PBS documentary in 2004 and was a man who was taught to be a terrorist for Bin Laden, following in his father's footsteps. As he grew older, he became increasingly disturbed by the goals and activities of Al Qaeda, eventually escaping after 9/11. After being captured in Afghanistan, he became an informant.
