Rodat goes to Last Town
Robert Rodat, who received an Oscar nomination for his screenplay for Saving Private Ryan, has been hired to write the script for DreamWorks' The Last Town on Earth. Based on a book by Thomas Mullen, the story is set in 1918 and tells about a town that puts itself under quarantine to try to avoid an outbreak of influenza.

DreamWorks goes to Town
DreamWorks has optioned the rights to the Thomas Mullen novel The Last Town on Earth even as the author searches for a publisher. The book is set in 1918 as a doctor declares that he will quarantine a town in order to avoid an outbreak of deadly Spanish influenza that is affecting nearby towns and people all over the world.
