Warner Bros. gets rights to Patterson books
Warner Bros. has picked up the rights to the James Patterson book When the Wind Blows and its sequel Maximum Ride. The studio is looking to turn the young adult titles into a franchise. Screenwriter Matthew Huffman has been selected to write the screenplay for the first film, which centers on six genetically engineered children who have the ability to fly. Because of their special abilities, after they escape the facility where they are being held, they are carefully tracked by scientists.
