Stallone reads Poe
Sylvester Stallone is set to direct a biopic of Edgar Allan Poe from a screenplay he wrote. Poe, a 19th century poet/author, has fascinated Stallone for some time and as a result, this is a project that he has been hoping to get out of the water for some time. His first choice to play the tormented artist is Robert Downey Jr. Poe wrote some infamously Gothic works such as The Raven and The Fall of the House of Usher. He was tormented by madness, drugs and alcohol. He mysteriously disappeared for a period of time before finally being discovered dying in a gutter shortly before he passed away.
Stallone previously wrote the Rocky and Rambo franchises.
