Paramount gets Ludlum book for DiCaprio
Paramount Pictures is set to acquire the rights to the 1977 Robert Ludlum novel The Chancellor Manuscript, with plans for Leonardo DiCaprio to star. Michael Seitzman will adapt the screenplay, which centers on a novelist named Peter Chancellor. He turns in a manuscript to his publisher about some D.C. power brokers who are blackmailed into altering U.S. policy. Soon, some real operatives believe that Chancellor has uncovered their plan and has written about it in his book, leading them to attempt to hunt him down.
