Firth and Carlyle get into The Meat Trade
Colin Firth and Robert Carlyle are set to star in Antonia Bird's The Meat Trade. Based on an original screenplay from Trainspotting novelist Irvine Welsh, the gothic horror comedy is set in Edinburgh and is a contemporary reworking of the crimes of 19th century bodysnatchers Burke and Hare. The duo made a living by robbing graves to provide cadavers to doctors for experimentation. When the supply dried up, they began to kill tramps to obtain the bodies they needed.
