Changes for Bobby Z

A new director has signed on for The Life and Death of Bobby Z, replacing Doug Aarniokoski, who left over creative differences. John Herzfeld will now be the helmer, with Laurence Fishburne also joining the film to co-star opposite Paul Walker. Bob Krakower and Allan Lawrence adapted the screenplay from a novel by Don Winslow. The story centers on a loser who makes a deal with the DEA that has him posing as legendary surfer/drug dealer Bobby Z in a hostage swap with a Mexican drug lord. The deal goes wrong, and the fake Bobby Z takes off on the run, with the real Bobby Z's son tagging along with him.
