Lions Gate shoots some pool
Lions Gate has acquired the rights to a feature based on the life of Danny Basavich, aka Kid Delicious, the current number one ranked pool player in the U.S. The story will be primarily based on the Sports Illustrated article by L. Jon Wertheim, who will handle the initial treatment for the film. Additionally, Lions Gate has come to a contract with Kid Delicious and his onetime partner "Bristol" Bob Begey to consult on the film. The movie will follow Kid Delicious's transformation to pool hustler to one of the most successful players in America.
