Singer to direct Harvey Milk story
Warner Bros. has set Bryan Singer to direct The Mayor of Castro Street, with Brandon Boyce, who handled the script for Singer's Apt Pupil, hired as screenwriter. Based on the Randy Shilts book by the same title, the story will take a look at the life and assassination of San Francisco supervisor Harvey Milk. He was the first openly gay man to ever be elected to political office, and was assassinated along with Mayor George Moscone by supervisor Daniel White.
