Wenham Added to Cast of Luhrmann Epic
David Wenham (Faramir in The Lord of the Rings trilogy) has been cast in director Baz Luhrmann's Australia for 20th Century Fox. Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman will also be in the film, set in pre-World War II northern Australia. The story is about an English aristocrat (Kidman) who interits a ranch and agrees to work with a cattle driver (Jackman) to protect her property. The pair head out on a cattle drive, where they are must stay safe from bombing by Japanese forces. Wenham will play the antagonist, a man trying to take over the ranch.

Beattie looking to work with Luhrmann
Stuart Beattie, the Australian screenwriter who handled the screenplay for 2004's Collateral, is set to write an epic Australian romance for director Baz Luhrmann. The project is being compared to Gone With the Wind, but specific details are being kept secret. He recently shelved a planned epic adaptation of the story of Alexander the Great, which he intended as a starring vehicle for Leonardo DiCaprio and Nicole Kidman.
