Paramount buys spec from Sandler brother
Paramount has purchased the family adventure spec script Trudain Rising from Scott Sandler, Kane Ng and Dan Hannon. Sandler is the brother of Adam, and the sale marks his first screenplay sold. The story, which is said to be in the vein of The Last Starfighter, centers on a pair of orphaned brothers. The younger of the two discovers that he has special powers that are the result of being the member of a dwindling race. More importantly, these powers make him the target of alien assassins. Adam Sandler's Happy Madison shingle will produce.
