Rudin purchases rights to Saturday
Scott Rudin has used his own money to purchase the rights to Ian McEwan's new novel Saturday, which will debut at number three on this week's bestseller list. The story centers on one day in the life of a neurosurgeon. As he is headed off for a regular tennis game, he has a car accident with a group of angry young men as a rally against the Iraq war goes on in the background. This accident will have monumental consequences in what happens in the neurosurgeon's life from that point on.
