WB gets Neo writer

Warner Bros. has hired Rob Lieber to write the script for a CGI feature based on the popular kids Web site NeoPets. John A. Davis will direct the film, which currently has a concept that is being kept secret. The Web site was created in 1991 and has millions of kids taking care of virtual pets.

Warner Bros. is getting some NeoPets

Warner Bros. has created a deal with NeoPets to create CGI-animated features using 50 different pet species from the kids Web site. The community was created in 1991 and has a following of about 25 million members (primarily in the preteen demographic) who log on regularly to care for their virtual pets. The studio and NeoPets have already set a concept for the first film and are in talks with a director.
