Howard to direct The Serpent and the Eagle
Paramount Pictures has acquired the epic project The Serpent and the Eagle, with Ron Howard set to direct. The movie is about the Spanish conquest of Mexico in 1520 and centers on how Hernando Cortez plunders the Aztec nation. Brian Helgeland (Mystic River) has been named to do a rewrite of the screenplay.
