Keyes is singing Compositions in Black and White
Sony Pictures Entertainment has hired Jose Rivera (The Motorcycle Diaries) to adapt the Kathryn Talalay book Compositions in Black and White, which is being developed as a star vehicle for singer Alicia Keyes. She will play Philippa Schuyler, a child prodigy and the first child of color to become a nationally prominent musician. She was composing music by the age of five; however, racial and gender bias in the 1930s were a heavy burden.
