Phantasm to have another go
New Line Cinema is in final negotiations with Don Coscarelli to bring Phantasm back to the big screen. The horror film that has spawned three sequels is now looking to add a number five to the end of its newest title. The original film featured a young boy named Mike and his friends as they faced off against a strange, spooky grave robber known as the Tall Man, who attacked them with his killer flying spheres. The first film was released in 1979.
For the new iteration, the Tall Man would travel from town to town, turning the dead into his own personal army and using those aforementioned spheres against anyone who might oppose him. Mike, who is slowly developing psychic powers, and his brother attempt to thwart their enemy. The movie is looking to potentially be a trilogy about Mike's coming-of-age.
