Mostow joins Disney Family
Jonathan Mostow is set to direct the 21st century update of Swiss Family Robinson for Walt Disney Pictures. He'll also re-write the current Greg Poirier screenplay along with Sam Montgomery. Disney execs noted that Swiss Family Robinson was Mostow's favorite movie as a child and that they are thrilled to have an event movie director such as him handling the material. He'll likely take the story back to its original 19th century setting.

Disney to remake Swiss Family Robinson
Walt Disney Pictures will once again dig into the vault as it remakes one of its classic family films. This time around, the movie is Swiss Family Robinson, which was originally released in 1960 and starred John Mills and Dorothy McGuire. The movie will be set in the beginning of the 19th century, as was written in the Johann David Wyss novel on which it was based. Greg Poirier wrote the screenplay.
