Sequel to The Net headed into production
Filming is set to begin this spring on a sequel to the 1995 thriller The Net, which starred Sandra Bullock. The follow-up will be titled The Net 2.0 and will be directed by Charles Winkler, son of Irwin Winkler, helmer of the first film. Rob Cowan wrote the screenplay, which centers on Hope Cassidy's arrival in Istanbul for a job as a computer systems analyst. Soon, her identity is stolen, and Hope is on the run from authorities, who believe she has killed a cop and stolen $14 million.
