Sommers has Magic Kingdom for Sale
Stephen Sommers, who directed the Mummy series and Van Helsing, is set to direct a movie based on the fantasy book series Magic Kingdom for Sale by Terry Brooks. Universal picked up the rights to the series, and has assigned veteran scripters Lowell Ganz and Babaloo Mandel to adapt the screenplay. The series centers on a widowed attorney who responds to a mysterious ad and spends a fortune to acquire a magical kingdom. He and his two children find the kingdom and the verge of chaos, meaning they might just be in over their heads.
