Aviator team to remake Kurosawa
Martin Scorsese, Leonardo DiCaprio and screenwriter John Logan are in talks to create a remake of the classic 1948 Akira Kurosawa film Drunken Angel for Warner Bros. DiCaprio would star, and Logan would write. At this point, it might be directed by Scorsese after he handles an adaptation of Shusaku Endo's book Silence. The original Kurosawa film was set in postwar Japan and told the story of a young criminal who is receiving tuberculosis treatment from an alcoholic doctor.
