Columbia acquires mystery novels
Columbia has acquired film rights to a series of seven mystery novels by Edgar Award-winning writer Harlan Coben. The first film will be Deal Breaker, a 1995 novel that introduced protagonist Myron Bolitar, a jock-turned-sports agent who is as slick at solving mysteries as he is at closing sports deals. In Deal Breaker, Bolitar is working to unravel a crisis involving his star quarterback client who discovers that a girlfriend who he thought was dead might actually be alive.
