Nair goes for a Gangsta
Mira Nair will direct the North American remake of the Bollywood film Munna Bhai, M.B.B.S. The film will be retitled to Gangsta M.D., with Jason Filardi (Bringing Down the House) writing the screenplay for 20th Century Fox. The story centers around a low-level gangster who keeps his mother in the dark as to his activities by telling her he is a doctor. When she actually discovers his criminal lifestyle and threatens to disown him, he's forced to make the lie come true.
