Cavu gains Lbs.
Indie distributor Cavu Pictures has picked up release rights to the 2004 Sundance film Lbs., which stars Carmine Famiglietti as an obese New Yorker who suffers a heart attack. He goes off to the country so that he can battle his food addiction away from the pressures of family and other temptation-inducing events. Famiglietti - who lost 170 pounds over the course of filming - co-wrote the film with Matthew Bonifacio. The distributor is looking toward a summer release.
