Linney goes to Jindabyne
Laura Linney will star in Jindabyne, an adaptation of a short story by Raymond Carver. Set in Australia, the drama centers on a group of men who discover the body of an Aborigine girl at the bottom of their fishing hole. However, they don't report the murder immediately, but rather wait until their coolers are filled with fish. A scandal occurs as a result, causing difficulties in the men's relationships. The screenplay will be adapted by Beatrix Christian.
The plot from the Carver story was previously used in Robert Altman's Short Cuts. In addition to Linney, Gabriel Byrne, Deborra-Lee Furness, John Howard and Leah Purcell co-star. The film is being directed by Ray Lawrence.
