Maguire produces a Blackbird
Tobey Maguire will produce the thriller Blackbird, and will also consider taking the starring role in the film. The screenplay is set to be written by David Auburn for Columbia Pictures. Loosely based on the Eric Olson book proposal titled Through the Glass Darkly, the film will center around the story of Olson's father, who worked for the CIA when the agency was performing LSD experiments in the 1960s. Eventually, he died under mysterious circumstances, but for 20 years his family believed he committed suicide. Then, Olson discovered that his father was given LSD a week before his death, and became compelled to investigate himself.
