Disney goes to Park
Disney has acquired movie rights to Ayelet Waldman's upcoming novel, which is tentatively titled Crossing the Park. No screenwriter has been assigned to the project yet, which will be handled by the Touchstone arm of the studio. The drama centers around a woman named Emilia who has been emotionally devastated by the death of her baby, causing her to be filled with hostility towards her stepson. She soon realizes that if there is to be any hope of fixing either herself or her marriage, she must come to love the boy.
The book is set to be published by Doubleday in January of 2006.
