Verhoeven has an Affair
Paul Verhoeven (Hollow Man) will direct the sequel to The Thomas Crown Affair, a Pierce Brosnan film from 1999. Based on the 1964 film Topkapi, the project is now titled, The Thomas Crown Affair 2. It has been in development for five years.

MGM regains Crown
MGM may not want Pierce Brosnan as Bond anymore, but they do like his capers. They've given the go-ahead on a sequel to The Thomas Crown Affair, to be titled The Topkapi Affair. Brosnan will headline the movie, while the screenplay will be handled by Harley Peyton. The movie will draw on elements from the 1964 film Topkapi.
