Menemsha gets Machuca
Los Angeles-based Menemsha Films is set to release the Chilean Oscar contender Machuca in early 2005. The small distributor is planning a platform release that will start in New York. Machuca was a box office hit in Chile, and tells the story of two boys who come of age as their country heads towards the Augusto Pinochet coup of 1973.
