Baldwin Entertainment to tell the story of Luna
Baldwin Entertainment Group, which produced the upcoming Ray, has optioned the rights to Julia Butterfly Hill's book The Legacy of Luna: The Story of a Tree, a Woman and the Struggle to Save the Redwoods. The story recounts Hill's time living in a 1,000-year-old redwood named Luna in an effort to bring attention to the damage wrought by deforestation and the damage that was occurring to the famous redwood trees. She lived in the tree for 738 days before coming to an agreement with the landowners that Luna would be protected. Academy Award winning screenwriter David S. Ward (The Sting) has been assigned to write the script.
