Bress and Gruber go Underground
Eric Bress and J. Mackye Gruber, who co-directed The Butterfly Effect for New Line Cinemas, have agreed to direct and polish A Cool Breeze on the Underground for the same studio. Based on the first of five mystery novels by Don Winslow, the story is about Neal Carey, a 23-year-old graduate student whose education is paid for by an organization called "The Bank." This shadowy syndicate is an exclusive New England institution that works to keep its wealthy clients content and out of trouble. They train Carey to be a private eye.
