Media 8 sees the Reaper
Media 8, which achieved financial success with the Charlize Theron breakout film Monster, is set to finance, co-produce and distribute the feature film Reaper. Circle of Confusion will co-produce, with work on the film planned to start in February. The film is said to be a stylish neo-noir project similar in tone to Blade Runner, and tells the story of a private investigator named Virgil, a man who is frequently recruited to work for mysterious and beautiful people. He slowly finds himself immersed in a strange underworld where the boundaries between right and wrong as well as life and death exist more in shades of grey than in absolutes. The project was developed and written by Gary Whitta, a writer who has worked on comic books, video games and novels.
