Disney goes for a Blowback
Disney has purchased the original action-comedy pitch Blowback from writer Sheldon Turner. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Ryan Reynolds are attached to star, with Reynolds also executive producing.

Turner to write Blowback
Screenwriter Sheldon Turner has come aboard to write the script for Blowback for producer Benderspink. The action film is based on the recent L.A. Times article by Megan Stack, "Dispatches From Dharan." That article centered around Aramco workers in Saudi Arabia whose lives were brought into chaos by Islamic terrorists who kidnap and murder workers from foreign lands. Turner will transport the story to the "Green Zone" of Iraq, where American workers inhabit a fortress-esque village surrounded by danger. When one of the workers is kidnapped, special forces head out to take revenge.
