Production Stops on Nerds Remake
Production on Fox Atomic's remake of comedy classic Revenge of the Nerds has come to a halt. Just four days before shooting was scheduled to begin on the campus of Emory University in Atlanta officials from the school changed their mind, citing the raunchy nature of the film. Fox attempted to find another willing school in the area, but had no luck. However the studio is still aiming to release the picture in August.

Cassidy to Seek Revenge on Nerds
Katie Cassidy is near a deal to star in the Revenge of the Nerds update for Fox Atomic. She will play Suzy Stone, the leading lady on campus and head of the Pi Delta Pi sorority. Kyle Newman is directing the comedy, from Adam Jay Epstein, Adam Goldberg, and Andrew Jacobons's final screenplay. Cassidy will also soon be appearing in pair of other redos, as Lucy Ewing in Dallas, and will play another sorority girl in horror remake Black Christmas.

Newman to Take on the Nerds
The Revenge of the Nerds remake has a director: Kyle Newman. Newman recently worked together with Nerds writer Adam Goldberg on the upcoming comedy Fanboys.

Revenge of the Nerds to be updated
Fox Searchlight has a remake of Revenge of the Nerds in development. The original film, which starred Anthony Edwards and Robert Carradine as leaders of a nerd fraternity that took revenge on the jocks and other cool kids, first was in theaters in 1984. The screenplay will be written by Gabe Sachs and Jeff Judah, who previously worked on the television series Life as We Know It. Adam Brody (The OC) and Brett Harrison (Grounded for Life) are co-producing, and may take roles in the film. The updated version is slated to be raunchy and R-rated, with cameo appearances by original cast members.
