Loomer to rewrite Nappily Ever After
Screenwriter Lisa Loomer is set to rewrite the script for the Halle Berry film Nappily Ever After for Universal. Based on a novel by Trisha Thomas, the story centers around a black woman's voyage of self-discovery. The main character is an advertising executive who is tired of constantly messing with her long, processed, straight hair, so she shaves it off. It's not just her hair she gets rid of, either, as she dispels her commitment-phobic boyfriend from her life. With her newfound freedom, she is surprised by the reaction of her friends and co-workers to her new hairstyle and associated new life. The film is being directed by Patricia Cardoso.
