Gold Circle gets The New Girl
Gold Circle Films has picked up the Alan Shapiro script The New Girl, and has set up the screenwriter to direct the film as well. The story centers around a teenage girl who goes from ugly duckling to swan, only to find that there is an ugly, frightening undertone to achieving her dream. Shapiro previously wrote the Alicia Silverstone thriller The Crush.
