Cohen gets leading role
Sasha Baron Cohen (Da Ali G Show) is set to star in the based-on-a-true-story Curly Oxide and Vic Thrill. Tina Fey based the screenplay on a National Public Radio story she heard about two musicians. Coehn will play Curly Oxide, the name assumed by a young Hasidic Jew when he became a rock star. He joined forces with one Vic Thrill, as the duo put together music with playful lyrics and joyous tunes.

Fey up for Curly Oxide and Vic Thrill
Paramount has mad a deal for the film Curly Oxide and Vic Thrill, which is set to be scripted by Saturday Night Live's Tina Fey (Mean Girl. Based on the true story of a Hasidic Jew and a grizzled rock musician who form a band together, the movie will center around the two friends who mingled their culture in their lyrics. Fey began campaigning for the rights to the story after hearing about the pair on National Public Radio. Lorne Michaels and John Goldwyn will produce.
