DeGeneres is God
Warner Bros. has hired Ellen DeGeneres to play the role originally portrayed by George Burns in a remake of the 1977 comedy Oh, God. The producer of the first film, Jerry Weintraub, will also handle production duties on the update.A director and writer will be signed shortly, with an eye toward shooting next summer during DeGeneres’ hiatus from her talk show. Though DeGeneres flopped in her only live-action movie, Mr. Wrong, Weintraub liked her take on the subject matter and thought it would be a worthy re-imagining of the original film.
