Fox finds Fitzgerald
Twentieth Century Fox is negotiating with F. Scott Fitzgerald's estate for the rights to remake the novelist's book Tender Is the Night, which it had previously adapted to the big screen in 1962. The U.S. rights had reverted back to the estate, which is run by Eleanor Lanahan, the author's granddaughter. The story, which is set to be adapted by screenwriter Jesse Wigutow, is a jazz era tale about a psychiatrist whose marriage to a wealthy patient is his undoing. The original film starred Jason Robards, Jennifer Jones and Joan Fontaine.
