New Line set for Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash
New Line Cinema is already in the planning stages for a sequel of sorts to its break-out horror hit of 2003, Freddy vs. Jason. This time around, they're in negotiations with director/producer Sam Raimi to bring together A Nightmare on Elm Street's Freddy Krueger, Friday the 13th's Jason Voorhees, and The Evil Dead trilogy's Ash for an all-out battle royale. The proposed project would be titled Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash, and would include the wisecracking, chainsaw toting, shotgun-using Ash in the melee. Bruce Campbell, who originated the character and continued through projects as recent as a 2003 videogame release, will reprise the role. Though Raimi would be unavailable to direct due to scheduling conflicts, he does hold the rights to the Evil Dead franchise, which means he must approve the project before it can get under way.
