Syntax Entertainment options Hubble
Syntax Entertainment has picked up the feature film rights to the true biographical story of Edwin Hubble, father of the Big Band theory and astronomer. Shawn Lawrence Otto is attached to adapt the screenplay from the Gale E. Christianson book Edwin Hubble: Mariner of the Nebulae. His book follows the rise to fame of the astronomer, who had provided the evidence that led Albert Einstein to endorse the model of an expanding universe in the 1930s. Hubble soon became famous and egotistical, hanging out with such famous folks as William Randolph Hearst and Charlie Chaplin. At the same time, the astronomer was known to stretch the truth on occasion, which makes a story about his life an intriguing prospect indeed.
