Sonnenfeld hears White Noise
Barry Sonnenfeld has joined forces with Cherry Road Films to begin production on a project that has been a longtime passion of his. White Noise, by author Don DeLillo, was the winner of the 1985 National Book Award, and Sonnenfeld first optioned it in 1999. He plans to direct and produce the film, with casting set to begin immediately. Sonnenfeld is also hoping to obtain sole claim to the title, which his project currently shares with a Michael Keaton thriller that is set to be released by Universal Pictures in January.
The book is a black comedy centering around a professor who must deal with a wife who might be heavily under the influence of drugs, four children who are too far ahead of their time to be accepted by "normal" society, and a chemical plant that has mistakenly released a
