Witherspoon considers walking the dog
Universal Pictures has acquired the rights to the Leslie Schnur novel The Dog Walker, which centers around a young woman who has been laid off from her publishing job and in order to make ends meet, fills in for a friend who walks dogs for New York City's social elite. The job allows our heroine to snoop through her client's apartments, observe their lives, and decide what she wants to do with her own. The screenplay will be adapted by Kristen Buckley and Brian Regan, who partnered on How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. Reese Witherspoon's Type A Films is involved in the production of the project, which means the actress will have first right of refusal at the lead role.
