Aghdashloo is Lolita
Recent Academy Award nominee Shohreh Aghdashloo is attached to star in a movie adaptation of the novel Reading Lolita in Tehran: A Memoir in Books. Industry Entertainment acquired the rights to the Azar Nafisi best seller, with Aleksandra Crapanzano set to write the screenplay. The Random House novel tells Nafisi's true story, who resigned from her job as a literature professor in Tehran and invited seven of her best female students to attend a weekly class about Western literature at secret meetings in her home. During these meetings, the women shared photocopied pages of novels that were illegal in their country, including stuff by Vladimir Nabokov, F. Scott Fitzgerald and Jane Austen. These books served as jumping off topics for discussions that related to the realities the women faced
