Twohy gets a Job
David Twohy has been brought aboard to handle the screenplay for The Brazilian Job, the new working title for the sequel to Paramount's The Italian Job. Initially, Twohy had turned in an original heist screenplay that he was hoping to direct, but the studio liked the idea so much that they asked him if he wouldn't mind adapting the project as the sequel to the earlier blockbuster. F. Gary Gray will direct. The studio has hired Twohy to helm a different project called The Would-Be Warrior.

Paramount goes for a second Job
Paramount is in negotiations with all of the principal actors from 2002's Italian Job for a planned sequel. Mark Wahlberg, Charlize Theron, Seth Green, Mos Def and Jason Statham are all in talks to reprise the roles they originated in the surprisingly successful heist flick.
Though Variety notes the script from husband-and-wife team Wayne and Donna Powers is not yet complete, Parmount still hopes to have the film start shooting in March for a November release. The studio is hoping to bring back director F. Gary Gray to helm.
The first film, a remake of a 1969 film starring Michael Caine, was Paramount's top domestic earner in 2002 with $106 million.

The treatment for the sequel is being written by Wayne and Donna Powers, the husband-and-wife team who scripted the remake and set it in Venice and Los Angeles. Currently, possible settings being considered include St. Tropez, Paris and the Swiss Alps.
