Chris Carter leads Philosophical Investigation
X-Files creator Chris Carter has signed on to direct and co-write the supernatural thriller Philosophical Investigation for Paramount. Carter will write the screenplay with fellow X-Files alum Frank Spotnitz, and the two will co-produce the film with Mace Neufeld. The story is based on a novel by Philip Kerr and is set in a not-so-distant future. In this brave new world, genetic testing is required to uncover any individuals who might be predisposed to violent acts. When a sociopathic computer expert discovers that his name is on the list, he decides to kill other people whose names are also there, leading to a cat-and-mouse game with a Scotland Yard inspector.
